It drew power from a device called the 'Power Source' or 'Stabilizer'—part of the machine built by Walter and Walternate—not a 'Zero Point Energy Stabilizer'. The Bridge was designed to allow safe passage, but initially only Cortexiphan-stabilized individuals like Olivia could cross; later, a device was used to allow others, though it was never fully open to all without restrictions. It was not the primary route for Peter Bishop's return from the Alternate Universe; Peter returned via the portal created by the First People device (the 'Machine') in the season 2 finale, before the Bridge was constructed. The Bridge was destroyed by Olivia Dunham using her Cortexiphan abilities in Season 4, Episode 19 ('Letters of Transit'), not in the erased 'The Day We Died' timeline.
